The director general of Transelectrica, Stelian Alexandru Gal, has participated on January 26th 27th, 2011, in Brussels, to the 21st meeting of the members from ENTSO-E Steering Committee (European Network of Transmission and System Operators for electricity), in his quality of Transelectrica representative in such Steering Committee of the ENTSO-E. The meeting agenda of the ENTSO-E meeting in Brussels has included: the ENTSO-E action plan for 2011; the development plan for the European transmission grids in 2011; coordinating the ENTSO-E activities with those of the European Commission; the communication plan regarding the 2011 legislative proposal for the "Energy Infrastructure Package"; discussing the Pilot Code of the Transmission Grid and the specific programmes of ENTSO-E committees.
      Transelectrica is actively and constantly participating within the ENTSO-E from the very establishment of this organisation in 2008, which means work by projects under the methodological task forces at continental level to integrate the electricity markets, as well as by regional projects. Given Romania's geographical positioning, Transelectrica plays a particularly important part in integrating Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova into the interconnected European system, as leader of the TSO consortium that will carry out all studies required in order to synchronously connect these two countries, stated Mr. Stelian Alexandru Gal, director general of Transelectrica.
