The Territorial Transmission Branch Bacău (TTB Bacau) operates on the entire territory of seven counties - Suceava, Botoșani, Bacău, Neamț, Iași, Vaslui and partially on the territory of Vrancea county, with the mission of ensuring the functioning of the National Electricity System (SEN) in the northeast area of Romania in conditions of safety and stability, as well as ensuring the electricity transmission services meeting the quality and safety standards of SEN.

 

TTB Bacău manages a power transmission grid consisting of 1,089.395 kilometers of overhead power lines (OHL), single circuit, operating at the voltage level of 400 kV (306.379 km) and 220 kV (751.498 km), overhead power lines operating at the voltage level of 110 kV (31,518 km) for interconnection with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, as well as 8 Electrical Substations, 7 of which have been completely re-engineered and modernized, and the 8th are in the process of being modernized:

 

The eight electrical substations under the management of the Territorial Transmission Branch Bacău are:

1.   400/220/110 kV Gutinaș Electrical Substation  

2.   400/110 kV Bacău Sud Electrical Substation

3.   400/110 kV Roman Nord Electrical Substation  

4.   400/220/110/20 kV Suceava Electrical Substation  

5.   220/110/20 kV FAI Electrical Substation  

6.   400(220)/110/20 kV Munteni Electrical Substation

7.   220/110 kV Dumbrava Electrical Substation  

8.   400(220)/110/20 kV Focșani Vest Electrical Substation  

 

The main objectives of Territorial Transmission Branch Bacău, according to the Company's strategic objectives from the ETN Development Plan:

1. The safe operation of National Electricity System (NES) and the transmission of power energy at the quality levels corresponding to the normal conditions of the TSO license granted by NRA, the technical code of the ETN and the Standard Performance for the Power Energy Transmission and System Services (TSO);
2. The technical and the operational management of the NES, so as to ensure continuous supply and under standard conditions of power energy quality, safety and stability in operation;
3. Strengthening the ETN and increasing the operational efficiency of the ETN;
4. Optimizing the maintenance budget;
5. Optimizing the organizational structure and the average number of staff, increasing the work productivity.

 

The investment projects in progress:

1.   The increasing the transmission capacity of 220 kV Stejaru-Gheorgheni-Fântânele OHL;

2.   400 kV d.c. Gutinaș-Smârdan (1c) OHL, including the extension of 400 kV Gutinaș Substantion;

3    The modernizations of 110 si 400(220) kV installation from Focșani Vest Substation;

 

The Guidelines for major investment projects:

1.   400 kV Suceava-Gădălin OHL;

2.   400 kV Suceava-Bălți  OHL (interconnection with the Republic of Moldova)

3.   To increase the transmission capacity of 220 kV Gutinaș-Dumbrava OHL;

4.   To increase the transmission capacity of 220 kV Dumbrava-Stejaru OHL;

5.   The installation of two modern means of reactive power compensation (CARMEN project) in the 400/220/110 kV Gutinaș and 400/220/110/20 kV Suceava substations;

6.   The photovoltaic power plant in the 400/220/110 kV Gutinaș substation and the photovoltaic power plants and the storage facilities in the 220/110/20 kV FAI and 400/110 kV Roman Nord substations;

7.    The replacements AT Suceava, AT2 FAI and AT1 Dumbrava.
