Bucharest, May 11th, 2011- in accordance with the provisions of Order 856/2011 from the minister of economy, commerce and business environment and with those of Decision 9/11.05.2011 from Transelectrica's BA, Mr. Horia Hahaianu has been appointed director general of the National Power Grid Company Transelectrica SA
      Mr. Horia Hahaianu was director general of Teletrans - Telecommunication and IT Operator, Transelectrica subsidiary in 2009 - 2011, counsellor of the minister of communications and informational society, having previously worked in the IT&C domain. He has graduated the Law Faculty (2004), Civil Installations and Constructions Faculty (1992) and an MBA (2009).
       During the time when Mr. Horia Hahaianu has led Transelectrica's Teletrans subsidiary, this one recorded outstanding performance by increasing 77% its turnover, 44% its active client base, with 53%profit growth in 2009 compared to 2008 and 25% in 2010 against 2009.

Such appointment is a new challenge to me, I wish to repeat here as well the performance attained when managing Teletrans. Together with my colleagues and with the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business Environment we will implement a set of policies that will strengthen Transelectrica's position and help us reach our goal - to become the technical and operational authority of the RPS as well as the key electricity transmission operator in south-eastern Europe, while operating in interconnection with ENTSO-E and providing electricity transit on the regional market. I will emphasise the strategic projects for the development and protection of critical infrastructure in the current European context and under the new national legislative framework" said Mr. Horia Hahaianu, Director General of Transelectrica.
