Regional reunion of great electricity networks CIGRE in Sibiu
From October 10th to 12th, 2012 the National Romanian Committee of CIGRE, in cooperation with the National Power Grid Company Transelectrica SA, organises the CIGRE International South-east European Conference RSEEC 2012 in Sibiu. This conference is a major event for power systems and will provide an exceptional opportunity for CIGRE (International Council of Large Electric Systems; Conseil International des Grands Reseaux Electriques) members and stakeholders to submit papers on Innovation for efficiency and effective management, as well as on solutions for the future power systems. The Conference will gather together experts in the power field, decision makers, researchers, professors, academicians and other participants interested in innovating within power systems. The event will also include a section dedicated to live work that the Live Work Association of Romania ALSTR has organised.
Participants will discuss about new development and operation concepts of transmission and distribution networks, current technologies and development trends, new equipment, environment, sustainability, new connection solutions for renewable energy sources (RES), techniques for the RES, energy storage, and challenges in the education of the labour force for the power system, methods, procedures, tools and materials for live work.
I am happy to see that the use of live work techniques has become a day-to-day fact within Transelectrica and is now an integral part of maintenance activities to the Electricity Transmission Grid. Certainly our specialists submitting papers to the Conference will share the experience that has been gathered so far on maintenance work to live lines and substations and will provide the benefits of LWT to increase the operational safety of the electric power system, has stated Marius Ion Mateescu, Director General of Transelectrica During the Conference Transelectrica's Transmission Branch Sibiu Sud will host a demonstration of Romania's Live Work Association (ALSTR).
