The Territorial Transmission Branch Cluj-Napoca (TTB Cluj-Napoca) operates on the entire territory of five counties - Cluj, Bihor, Maramureș, Satu Mare, Sălaj and partially on the territory of Mureș County, with the mission of ensuring the operation of the National Electricity System (NES) in the northwest area of Romania in safe and stable conditions, as well as the provision of electricity transmission services meeting the quality and safety standards of NES.

 

TTB Cluj-Napoca manages a power transmission grid consisting of 1,000.476 kilometers of overhead power lines (OHL), single and double circuit, at voltages of 400 kV (414.241 km) and 220 kV (586.235 km), as well as 10 trafo and connections substations, all of which have been completely refurbished and modernized:

  2. 400 kV Gădălin Electrical Substation
  3. 400/110 kV Oradea Sud Electrical Substation
  4. 220/110 kV Baia Mare 3Electrical Substation
  5. 220/110 kV Sălaj Electrical Substation
  6. 220/110 kV Cluj Florești Electrical Substation
  7. 400/110 kV Cluj Est Electrical Substation
  8. 220/110 kV Vetiș Electrical Substation
  9. 220/110 kV Tihău Electrical Substation  
  10. 220/110 kV Câmpia Turzii Electrical Substation  

 

The main objectives of TTB Cluj-Napoca, according to the Company's strategic objectives from the ETN Development Plan:

  1. The safe operation of NES and the transmission of power energy at the quality levels corresponding to the normal conditions of the TSO license granted by NRA, the technical code of the ETN and the Standard Performance for the Power Energy Transmission and System Services (TSO);
  2. The technical and the operational management of the NES, so as to ensure continuous supply and under standard conditions of power energy quality, safety and stability in operation;
  3. Strengthening the ETN and increasing the operational efficiency of the ETN;
  4. Optimizing the maintenance budget;
  5. Optimizing the organizational structure and the average number of staff, increasing the work productivity.

 

Achievements STT Cluj

  1. The complete the refurbishment of all 10 substations under its management.
  2. The fully upgrading of the Telemanagement and Installation Supervision Center, ensuring the possibility of remote monitoring and operation of all 10 substations of the Branch.
  3. The completion of the construction of the 400 kV Overhead Power Line Oradea Sud – Nădab (poles 1-147), part of the 400 kV Oradea (RO) - Beckescsaba (HU) OHL
  4. The maintaining of the proper operating conditions of the equipment and power lines under its management, by regularly ensuring specific major and minor maintenance works.

 

Guidelines for the investment projects at the TTB Cluj-Napoca level:

  1. The construction of a new 220/110 kV injection substation from 220 kV Iernut – Baia Mare 3  OHL in RED, located in Dej/Cuzdrioara, Cluj County.
  2. The realization of the 400 kV Gădălin – Suceava OHL, an objective of strategic importance, which will complete the national 400kV ring of the energy power transmission grid. Out of the total of 988 OHL poles, 497 will be under the management of TTB Cluj-Napoca, distributed in Cluj and Bistrița Năsăud counties.
  3. The realization of the CARMEN project, in collaboration with TTB Bacău, to optimize the voltage regulation and the energy power quality parameters by installing FACTS equipment in Gutinaș, Suceava and Roșiori substations.
