Transelectrica is initiating a new project to increase the interconnection capacity between Romania and Serbia - the 400 kV double circuit OHL Resita–Panchevo

In October 2011 the managerial teams of Transelectrica and EMS - JP Elektromreza signed the Joint Position Paper 3 in Belgrade, document laying the basis of a new contract to build the 400 kV double circuit OHL making the interconnection between Resita (RO) and Panchevo (RS).
The 400 kV double circuit OHL Resita – Panchevo project of mutual interest aims at increasing the electricity exchanges between the Serbian and the Romanian systems by enhanced interconnection capacities. At present Transelectrica is taking steps to have the investment's technical-economic indicators approved under GD and initiate the expropriation procedure for the lands required to build such OHL. Transelectrica plans as bid completion target the interval October - November 2012, with a view to select the general contractor and sign the execution contract.
